Meet Mimi Lee, a software engineer here at Affinity. We asked Mimi a few question about what its like to work as a part of the Affinity engineering team:

Let’s start with something easy… what is something someone may not know about you?

I’m a software engineer by day, DJ/music producer by night! I make electronic music and play shows around the west coast.

Tell us a little bit about your role and what you take care of day to day.

I’m a lead engineer on the integrations team and own multiple product areas, such as billing, integrations and Affinity Analytics. My role is part feature work and part unblocking my teammates so that they’re successful in their projects!

What do you like most about your role?

I really enjoy how closely I get to work with product and design, as well as other engineers on my projects. All new projects start with product exploration and it’s super rewarding to be a part of that initial planning process because there’s a strong emphasis on understanding why we’re working on the project and the impact it will have on the customers.

Any tips for someone considering a career in engineering?

Throw yourself in problems and projects that are seemingly impossible for your experience, then ask the people around you for help!

Why do you love working at Affinity? Any team events or activities you look back to that were your favourite?

I just really love the people I get to work with at Affinity! They’re some of the smartest people I know, and everyone is always open to hearing feedback. I love the open mindedness and the growth mindset that we celebrate as a company.

My favorite memory at Affinity is the first ski trip we had, one week after I joined. A bunch of us on the engineering team stayed back a couple extra days to hit the slopes after the weekend retreat and it was definitely a memorable way of getting to know my teammates!

We’re hiring!
